Cyber breaches and attacks remain an ongoing threat in 2025 especially for SME businesses, therefore having accurate risk data is vital to choosing the appropriate coverage. For example, findings from Cloudflare’s Shielding the Future: Europe’s Cyber Threat Landscape report reinforce that cybersecurity in Europe remains a “growing concern”.
Cloudflare surveyed more than 4,000 business and technology leaders across 13 European markets including Benelux, Nordics, Southern Europe and the UK. The study found that 40% of organisations experienced a cybersecurity incident in the last 12 months. Likewise only 29% of European businesses reported feeling “highly prepared” for future cyber incidents.
Overall only 29% of survey respondents felt “highly prepared”, but even more concerning was that only a quarter of smaller businesses felt “highly prepared”. On the other hand, medium-sized and large businesses did not fare that much better with preparedness, at 27% and 32%, respectively.
Therefore, the mitigation and management of evolving cyber threats is now at the “top of corporate risk registers”. The challenge with the cyber attack landscape, however, is that they are a constantly moving target due to their increasingly sophisticated nature, not to mention the spanner that artificial intelligence throws into the mix.
As repercussions for businesses post cyber attack can be costly, ranging from regulatory or compliance to extortionate losses from business interruption, the accuracy and efficiency of cyber risk data is key.
To address this, partnerships are key.
Importance of partnerships
Alta Signa recognises that responding to cyber risks requires going beyond “just” offering a policy. That’s why its partnership with cysmo represents a significant step forward in proactive risk mitigation and operational resilience for policyholders.
By embedding cysmo’s advanced “outside-in” cyber security scanning technology into its systems, Alta Signa can provide real-time insights into external digital vulnerabilities, assessing risks from the perspective of a potential hacker. This not only helps businesses identify and address weaknesses proactively but also equips them with tailored cover that evolves alongside emerging threats.
With Alta Signa’s Cyber Risk Specialty Insurance product, businesses are protected against a wide array of cyber exposures, from remediation expenses and denial-of-service attacks to identity theft. However, the offering goes further, providing operational resilience tools and a continuous layer of threat scanning to deliver real-time peace of mind for policyholders.
This proactive approach reflects Alta Signa’s commitment to enhancing client confidence and readiness in a landscape where cyber threats are no longer just a possibility, they are an inevitability. By combining innovative technology with expert insights, Alta Signa is helping businesses navigate the increasingly complex cyber risk landscape with clarity and assurance.
