Susan is a JD/MBA and former General Counsel who has been consulting and advising in law, blockchain, fintech and insurtech for the past five years. Her practice areas include enterprise distributed ledgers, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, distributed registries, digital assets and wallets, digital asset insurance, consortia formation and operation, regulatory issues, policies and compliance, decentralized identity and privacy, data integrity, open source strategies, and other issues as they occur across financial services, real estate, supply chain, and insurance.

She is currently the RiskStream Civics Representative and formerly was the B3i North America Representative. She is often consulted about issues that intersect regulation and technology. She was the first Executive Director of ID2020 and consulted for IBM blockchain/identity. Notably, she is a co-founder and Executive Director of Diversity in Blockchain, Inc. a not-for-profit that promotes inclusion, educates, and sets Best Practices for the blockchain industry.

Susan is a Core Leader for the World Economic Forum Blockchain Projects on both Consortia and Blockchain and is a member of their Expert Network. She is an Advisor to BlockRe (digital asset insurance) and OneWorldIdentity (identity). Susan speaks regularly on blockchain to industry and legal groups including Cornell, Stanford, MIT, CKGSB, Cleveland Marshall Law School, PLI, ABA, ACC, MercyCorps, UN, the US Treasury, and other regulators. Additionally, Susan founded and runs the womeninfintech group on LinkedIn which has 2400 plus members in 47 countries.
